The Institute of the Battles of Çanakkale

Anatolia, a cradle of civilization and has a deep historical past at the same time, has been one of the areas of the struggle of societies from the first age to today. These grounds that carry the pain, defeat, and victory along with its unique beauty witnessed the various struggles of the Turkish nation throughout the years. Çanakkale is the place where the fire of the fight for independence, which keeps its freshness in the memory of our nation in the Great War, was lit. Çanakkale front ended up in victory with the great effort of Turkish officers and soldiers. The fight for independence in Çanakkale and the people who made it a victory because of this fight turned into the national fight for independence, especially Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow soldiers.

The Foundation of Turkish Martyrdom Construction, established in 1926, continues its actions to protect and construct the martyrdoms as a foundation today. Our foundation, which has carried out the construction of multiple monuments and martyrdoms especially the Monument of Martyrs, provides financial and emotional helps to the families of the sons of this country who were martyred for their country and its future and supports the children of these heroes.

Çanakkale has great importance to our foundation. To crown all the efforts made for Çanakkale, we have established an institute that will work as a research center to write the history made on these grounds. The Institute of the Battles of Çanakkale (Institute of Gallipoli Campaign) has been designed as an institution that will rise the quality and quantity of the studies carried on in this field, which have been lacking until the present and will work up into the struggle on Gallipoli Peninsula accurately and scientifically. The team consisting of competent and expert academicians and researchers who can realize national and international events and projects has started to work to transfer correct and effective information about the Battles of Çanakkale (Gallipoli Campaign) and the battlefield to the next generations. We aim to strengthen the Turkish complete works about the Battles of Çanakkale (Gallipoli Campaign) and to share these complete works in the international field.
